AUCKLAND TRANSPORT
THE BIG DAY OUT EXPRESS: A special bus service running from Real Groovy Records at 438 Queen Street and returning to town from Gate B at Mt Smart, running all dayfrom 9am to 1.30am. $15 (cash only) return fares or $10 one way tickets issued from the Bus Stops.
NITERIDER BUSES: Will get you home from the city if you are going on home. Check where your bus leaves from before you head to the BIG DAY OUT. They run until 3.40am.
O THER BUSES: Northern Express Buses head to Albany Station via all busway stations until 3am.
Additional 008/009 buses head out to the New Lynn Transport Centre from Church St outside the stadium.
TRAIN – BIG DAY OUT SPECIALS: run from Papakura, Henderson and Britomart straight to the Big Day Out Penrose station. Regular train services also run. Check timetables online and at stations for more information.

GOLD COAST SHUTTLE BUS CHARTER SERVICE: A Big Day Out Shuttle Bus charter service operates from the following departure points TO the event from 10.00am until 4.00pm. Departures returning FROM the event to all locations from 7.00pm to 11.00pm. Tickets on sale at departure point in the main car park out of the front of the main gate from event staff.SURFERS PARADISE: Shuttle bus departs from Cypress Ave Car Park, cost is $10 return.
BROADBEACH: Shuttle bus departs from Gold Coast Highway (northbound lane) outside Jupiters, cost is $10 return.
YOUR LOCAL TRAIN STATION + THEN SHUTTLE BUS: A train runs every 30 minutes to connect with the Big Day Out shuttle bus at Helensvale between 10.00am to 4.00pm. The shuttle bus departs the venue at 9.30pm for the 10.00pm train and at 10.30pm for the last train at 11.00pm. The cost for the shuttl e bus is $10 return.
BRISBANE BUS CHARTER: Return coash service departs 9.30am from front of Roma Street Transit Centre. Tickets are $25 + BF and only available in advance from www.oztix.com.au & oztix outlets. Returning bus departs the venue at 11.00pm sharp.

CITYRAIL is providing additional services across the network to help get you to and from this year’s Big Day Out, including special direct services for Newcastle & Central Coast Line customers.
GETTING THERE:
Services operate from Central, Redfern + Strathfield to Olympic Park Station every 10 minutes from 10.00am.
Sprint services operate from Lidcombe to Olympic Park Station every 10 minutes.
A direct service departs from Newcastle at 8.15am, stopping Civic, Hamilton, Broadmeadow, Cardiff, Fassifern, Morisset and Olympic Park stations.
A direct service departs Wyong at 9.20am, stopping Tuggerah, Gosford, Woy Woy + Olympic Park stations.
Between 10.00am and 3.30pm, Blue Mountains Line services to Central will stop at Lidcombe Station. Change at Lidcombe for the Olympic Park Sprint.
GETTING HOME:
We’re providing additional services after midnight to help you get home on the Bankstown, Inner West, South, Western (Richmond branch line), North Shore, Northern and South Coast lines.
Services operate from Olympic Park to Strathfield, Redfern and Central stations every 5 minutes from 11.00pm to 1.00am.
Sprint services operate from Olympic Park to Lidcombe Station every 10 minutes to 1.00am.
Change at Lidcombe for connecting Blue Mountains services departing Lidcombe at 10.36pm + 11.36pm.
Travel to Strathfield for connecting services to Newcastle and the Central Coast.
Additional services to Newcastle depart Strathfield at midnight and 1.27am. A service to Newcastle departs Gosford at 1.48am.
An additional service to Wollongong departs Central at 1.25am. A service to Bomaderry (Nowra) departs Wollongong at 3.14am

MELBOURNE TRANSPORT
The best way to get to Big Day Out is by public transport! Extra trains and trams have been scheduled to make sure you and your mates can travel to and from Flemington Racecourse easily and safely. Don’t forget you’ll need a valid Metcard or myki to travel to the event.
TRAIN Trains will run to a Sunday timetable. So make sure you plan your journey ahead of time and work out which train you’ll be catching home. Special trains will leave from Flinders Street Station (platforms 8 and 9) from 9.30am. Trains will stop at Southern Cross and North Melbourne stations and then run express to Flemington Racecourse. Trains stop at the same stations to get you home. Last train to the city from Flemington departs at 11.35pm.
TRAMS will run to a Sunday timetable with extra trams running to and from the racecourse. Extra Route 56 trams will run from the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth streets (tram stop 1) to Flemington Racecourse on Epsom Road (tram stop 29). Passengers can also take Route 57 trams to and from the event. Last trams to the city depart at approx midnight.
BUS Route 472 runs every 50 minutes on Sunday from Williamstown via Footscray to Moonee Ponds and stops at Flemington Racecourse. TAXI/PARENT DROP OFF There are two designated drop off areas with access via the Main Entrance. One located ON CORN ER OF UNION ROAD AND EPSOM ROAD FOR NORTHERN SUBURBS and the CITY SIDE POINT located AT MEMBERS DRIVE on Epsom Road (west side). Please note that no U turns will be allowed along Epsom Road and both Duncan and Wisewould Streets will be closed to traffic during the event.
TAXI/PARENT PICK-UP Please note that post event, pick up will not be possible on Epsom Road as this will be closed to traffic. The pick-up areas will be CORNER OF EPSOM AND LANGS ROAD (NEAR SHOWGROUNDS and on the city side of Racecourse Road NEAR THE ROUNDABOUT.
PARKING There is limited car parking available in the vicinity of Big Day Out and it is advisable to use public transport where possible. All of the local streets will be designated as “Permit Zone” only on the day of the event and parking restrictions will be heavily enforced so don’t risk getting a fine. If you must drive, provisions have been made at the Showgrounds for public parking but spaces are limited and the cost will be $15 per car. Entry to the Showgrounds car park is via Langs Road. Entry to the Big Day Out is via the Showgrounds tunnel.WHEELCHAIR ACCESS All Epsom Rd and Railway Gates are accessible.

Train – make your way down Hill Road and enter via Railway Gate
Tram – enter via Epsom Road gate
Accessible car parking available within Melbourne Showgrounds RASV car park, once parked travel through Showgrounds tunnel and into site via Railway Entrance.

ADELAIDE TRANSPORT
ADELAIDE METRO TRAIN: All trains on the Belair and Noarlunga lines after 10:00am will stop at Keswick Station. From there it’s just a 10-minute walk to the venue. Normal timetables apply.
ADELAIDE METRO TRAM: Trams run from North Terrace to Goodwood approximately every 15 minutes. The last tram departs North Terrace for Glenelg at 12:00 midnight. Normal timetables apply.
ADELAIDE METRO CITY BUS: All the usual bus timetables along Goodwood Road apply. All Express and F services will also stop on Goodwood Road. Get off at stop 2 and walk to Rose Terrace entrance.
BIG DAY OUT BUS: Go to the Big Day Out Special Bus Stop just east of Currie Street stop V1 between 10:00am and 1:30pm and you won’t have to wait more than 15 mins for a bus straight to the showgrounds. Buses returning to the city will depart from Greenhill Road stop 1C (straight through from the BDO entrance) every few minutes from 9:00pm until midnight.
TAXI: An extended taxi rank will operate on the southern side of Rose Terrace.

PERTH TRANSPORT
Public transport is the easiest way to get to and from the Big Day Out. The event is joint ticketed, meaning your ticket to the BDO includes travel on all Transperth services, for three hours before, during and after the event until end of service. Simply show your ticket to the driver or inspector on your way to the event and your wristband on the way home.
Transport will have a shuttle bus service operating direct to McCallum Park from the Wellington Street Bus Station in Perth. Catch the train to Perth Station or Perth Underground, which is right next door to the bus station. Trains are scheduled to arrive every 15 minutes throughout the day however you can visit transperth.wa.gov.au or call 13 62 13 for more information.
After the event shuttle buses will run from the venue back to Perth where you can easily transfer to a train service. Trains will continue to operate on a 15-minutre frequency throughout the night until end of service. The last trains out of Perth on all lines will depart Perth and Perth Underground at 12.15am.
With public transport included and plenty of parking nearby at Taylor Reserve, getting in and out of the Big Day Out is easy!
